{ History }GRAVITY went on-line on November 2, 2005 and was hosted by the great Alison of kira.nu at her other domain, cosmic-era.net. However, cosmic-era.net expired back on November 11, 2007, and she hadn't given me any warning about it, so GRAVITY found itself quite suddenly homeless. But that's okay! I bought a domain of my own (after much time spent persuading my parents...) and we officially came back on-line April 26, 2008! We'll be staying here for as long as I own my domain, hopefully xD
{ Name }
The name took a lifetime to come up with it. You wouldn't believe how annoyingly hard it is to come up with a single word to describe Sting Oakley >_< But I found one! Gravity!
Actually, GRAVITY is what I came up with after staring at "serious" for two hours. Serious is definitely a word that can sum up Sting, but it didn't have a ring to it, so after filing through my mind filled with synonyms, I landed upon "gravity".
ser·ious / adj [1] solemn and thoughtful; not frivolous. [2] thought-provoking. [3] important. [4] dangerous, life-threatening, acute.
[1] Heh. Absolutely Sting. Always solemn and thoughtful. Never laughs. Unless Auel provokes him xD
[2] Mm... More or less. He's definitely thought-provoking to us. *silence* Okay. Me. Since I'm one of the only people in the world who gives a damn about Sting's existence --; A complex character. Definitely thought-provoking ^^
[3] So he's treated like an unimportant person in the series. GO AWAY! He's really an important person whether GSD and Fukada treat him like he is or not. If it weren't for him, Auel and Stellar would have died in the first episode~
[4] Squee *.* Yes, dangerous. Just look at those pretty eyes *.* He's more or less always out for blood when it comes to fighting. He has an aggressive character and will go to almost any lengths to attain victory. A great fighter on the battlefield and don't you dare say he's terrible at it! He survived longer than Auel and Stellar anyways! And do you REALLY expect him to do well against Athrun and Kira? (If you don't remember him fighting against Kira, go look at the episode where Chaos was destroyed.) Come o~on! No one can beat them!
{ Why }
Why Sting? Very simple. HE'S TOO DAMN UNAPPRECIATED!! >______< He's treated as a cannon fodder and no one really appreciates what he gives to the series. There's hardly any merchandise out for him if you don't count the Chaos models. I have searched for Sting stuff, TRUST ME. And all I find are stuff of Auel and Stellar. Those cute little chibi figurines for the GSD cast? They don't even HAVE one of Sting!! >______< Pictures of him are extinct and there is no decent information of him out there.
So I, being the biggest Sting fangirl to ever exist, have decided to put together the very first shrine - English or otherwise - dedicated to Sting Oakley. Maybe now people will start to appreciate him a little more. *glares at people*
{ How }
Mm... I'm not sure when my obsession with Sting started O_o Probably from the first time I watched the 1st GSD episode. Come on~ You just HAVE TO love his pretty yellow-green eyes and crazy green hair *.* Err... Right...
So I become obsessed with Sting. And become obsessed with finding stuff for him as well. Of course. What fanboy or girl doesn't look for stuff pertaining to their favorite characters? So I look. And look. And look. And NOTHING. There is nothing out there. No posters. No little figurines. No PICTURES even! *glares at this evil thing called the internet* With all my searching, I have found but one tiny little thing that just barely resembles him. But it is cute. He's giving a peace sign *.* *ahem* Digressing... *makes a note to see how much it is later*
With that in mind, I decide to create a shrine for him. I have found shrines for Stellar and Auel and a site for the druggies from both Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny (which MOCKS Sting, mind you! *glares*), so why not? -^^- So I shove away the rest of my projects and set to work on this. You have no idea how hard I've worked on this site, so please enjoy it ;-;
